IFU – Investment fund for developing countries invests
together with and provides advice to Danish companies in
Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Investments are made on
commercial terms in the form of share capital and loans to the
project companies, and the purpose is to promote economic and
social development in the investment countries. On average, IFU
contracts investments of around DKK 600m annually in 40 – 50
project companies. IFU’s head office is located in Copenhagen,
and we currently have regional offices in China, India, South
Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt and Colombia.
Position: Investment Director
Job description
To take part in the development of
investment opportunities and management of the portfolio in
Nigeria and in West Africa.
To
manage and further develop the investment portfolio in Nigeria
and in West Africa in general, IFU is looking for an experienced
investment professional to give a local presence in Nigeria and
be part of the virtual investment team working with West
Africa.
You will be responsible for providing
potentially interested Danish companies with advice and
insights regarding investment opportunities in West Africa and
in Nigeria in particular, as well as for arranging co-financing
for project companies that are economically viable and uphold
IFU key values within sustainability and ESG.
You will be employed in Nigeria, and
your base will be a new IFU office to be set up in Lagos. Terms
for the position are a local Nigerian employment
contract.
Desired Skills and
Experience
We expect that you have extensive
knowledge and experience from working in Nigeria in the areas
of investment, finance, accounting and contracting – and that
you are also equipped with excellent financial flair and
sound judgement. In addition, you have a broad business
network in the region, particularly Nigeria, and will through
that also be able to identify relevant investment
opportunities.
To succeed, we envision you as an
innovative person and a motivating communicator – who is able
to spot opportunities and generate enthusiasm among Danish
companies and other investment partners. You have excellent
analytical skills and a relevant academic degree at MA level.
Your work experience is either from international
finance/investment organisations or a large international
