Job Position: Entry Level Metallurgical and Mechanical

Engineer

Location: Ogijo-Ikorodu, Lagos
Level: Entry
Job Description


  • Monitor the behaviour of metals under stress and study

    changes in temperature

  • Shape and join metals and select the best metal that meets

    expected requirements

  • Assist in monitoring production lines and processes

  • Controlling the shaping of metals through casting, rolling,

    forging and drawing;

  • Joining of metals through welding and soldering techniques

  • Designing metal components and prototypes

  • Interpreting and understanding design drawings and making

    recommendations;

  • Monitoring quality standards in manufacturing and

    finishing;

  • Assessing the physical structure and behaviour of metals

  • Doing structural analysis using sophisticated computer

    software;

  • Writing documents, manuals, metallurgical investigations,

    and reports

  • Discussing different solutions to problems with other

    technical staff;

  • Taking responsibility for health and safety issues of staff

    and components in manufacturing;

Education


  • HND or B.Sc in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:


  • 0-2 years in Rolling mill operations

Technical Competencies:


  • Basic Knowledge of Rolling Operation in bar mills

  • Good knowledge of standards of rolled products.

Behavioral Competencies:


  • Interpersonal Skills.

  • Problem solving abilities.

  • Good Communication Skills.

  • Time Management.

  • Ability to work under stress.
