Responsibilities
Prepare and oversee of monthly management accounts, annual budgeting process and regular reforecasting processes in line with group requirements and frameworks
Prepare and oversee statutory financial reporting and compliance
Tax income tax, VAT, PAYE, withholding taxes, duties, etc. and other related statutory reporting and compliance
Liaise with and coordinate external advisors, i.e. auditors, tax advisors, lawyers, bankers etc.
Cash management and short and long term cash flow forecasting in line with group requirements and frameworks
Lead implementation of, and adherence to, the Company financial and commercial requirements across the Project
Implement and apply effective financial and commercial systems, processes, standards and KPIs in line with group policies, procedures and systems, to ensure the project delivers on its commercial outcomes and opportunities and project risks are minimized
Oversee the supply chain, payroll functions and teams for the projects
Manage the immigration and quota allocation for the projects
Awareness of local commercial laws and liaising with local legal providers
Build strong internal and external customer focused culture and practices within the Commercial Team to deliver positive Project results
Ensure a competent, engaged and performance driven Commercial team and provide appropriate development opportunities to build internal capability
Provide support and financial advice to operation/project managers
Manage supplier contract tender process, contract negotiation, review and discussion with suppliers.
Contract management of supplier contracts.
Provide assistance and support project managers on client contract variations, claims and dispute resolutions
Qualification and Skill
Bachelors’ degree qualification – Finance, Commerce or similar
Must be a Chartered Accountant
Extensive experience within the mining industry
Previous experience in the development and management of budgets
Implementation of financial tools and systems that will improve processes and reporting for a large resource project
Previous experience in Managing and coordinating multi-functional teams
Previous experience working in a Finance and Commercial Team within West Africa
