Terminal superintendent at Orlean Invest West Africa

Development through continuous investment has been the core driver of the company since its inception and now Orlean Invest is transferring the success it has at Onne to other projects across Nigeria such as Badagry Mega port, Eko Energy Estate in Lagos and Abuja Hills Estate to name but a few of the on-going developments

1. The Terminal Superintendent is to assist the Terminal Base Superintendent on all terminal operations at the Terminal Base including, in co-ordination with Shipping/Stevedoring Section (AMS), transfer/offloading of cargoes from/to quayside from/to stacking area/ warehouse from/to ocean going vessels, utilization of Plant, Equipment and Personnel. He is also responsible for the relationships with the Terminal Port Authorities/ Customs.

2. The Terminal Superintendent will manage and control all Terminal Base activities, including:
• Handling of Cargoes from Quayside to warehouse/ stacking area
• Offloading/ Loading of terminal cargoes at stacking area/ warehouse
• Transfer within Base for Custom Examinations
• Stacking area occupied by terminal cargoes in stacking/ warehouse
• Project cargo, Equipment utilization during Terminal Base operations and
personnel
• Loading/off loading of barges (direct delivery / project cargoes only).
• Release /delivery of import cargoes.
• Documentation relating to Terminal Base Operations
• Terminal Job orders/job sheets and any other documentation
generating the invoices
• Personnel of the authorities involved in the Terminal Base operations:
NPA and Customs
• Operational disputes originating insurance claims

3. The Terminal Superintendent will assist the Terminal Base Superintendent
to prepare co-ordinate, control and preparation of all the Terminal Base
documentation concerning the operations effected and ensure that it is duly
signed by the clients.

4. The Terminal Superintendent will assist the Terminal Base
Superintendent to plan, utilized and control all the plant and equipment,
cranes, forklifts, trucks, Mafi, trailers, Pettibone, tug masters, barges,
container handlers etc. and personnel during Terminal Base operations and
of the personnel utilizing it.

5. The Terminal Superintendent will assist the Terminal Base Superintendent
to co-ordinate with the Dedicated Logistic Supervisors, the receipt of import
cargoes in the dedicated facilities

1. Degree in Maritime/Transport Management or related course in Logistics Management. Additional degree or diploma in any of the social sciences will be an advantage.
2. A graduate member of a recognized professional body in Maritime/Transport Management.
3. Must be fluent in English Language - spoken and written.
4. 3-7years working experience in similar position
5. Must possess qualities of integrity, patience and understand interpersonal relationship
