The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has provided funding to the Program on Leadership and Accountability in Nigerian’s Health sector (PLAN-Health) of Management Sciences for Health (MSH) to improve the skills and strengthen the management and leadership capacity of I i professionals working in the health sector. This includes Nigerian networks and organisations delivering HIV/AIDS services. A key component of this effort is a Fellowship Program, which has been designed to build the capacity of the health professionals to effectively respond to the challenges they face in managing HIV/AIDS and other health services.
The PEPFAR funded Health Professionals’ Fellowship Program, which is conducted over an eight-week period, comprises of a classroom component, practicum segment, community-based activities and a mentoring support mechanism. The eight-week period is compulsory and fully residential, and it takes place in a serene part of Nigeria. The classroom component includes an adapted version of the MSH Leadership, Development Program, which is uniquely delivered utilizing Nigerian case studies and examples.Job Title: PEPFAR Health Professional Fellowship ProgramProspective participants must be Nigerian professionals working in any of the following institutions: the FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat (FCT HHSS); Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria i(MLSCN): the FCT AIDS Control Agency (FACA); National AIDS and STIs Control Programme (FASCP): FCT Secondary and Primary Health facilities, the FCT Health Service Scheme (HSS); the Federal Ministry of Health, National AIDS Control Agency (NACA), National AIDS and STls Control Programme (NASCP) and National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS): Indigenous Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and umbrella bodies working with any of the MSH projects and in any of the institutions mentioned. In addition. participants must meet the followingCommitment to be present throughout and to complete the programMust have over 5 yrs work experience I Must be working in any of the institutions mentioned above as either a provider or manager.Commitment to work as a member of a team and to practice the new skillsCommitment to participate in a practicum or internship organized by the project teamWillingness to receive feedbackAbility to communicate effectively in English language both verbally and In writingAll applications must be filled online by click below latest 17th November 2011.
