Our client
Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by an international industrial group to recruit a Logistics Business Partner (Transport Commercial) for its operations.

Job description
The logistics business partner will be responsible for managing the logistics for the transport services, materials and personnel of the company. The Logistics Business Partner reports to the Head of Chain Supply Division.

The position is based in Lagos.

Responsibilities
Put in place strategic Sourcing Plans for fleet replacement/upgrade from conventional to corporate transporters to drive dispatch efficiency.
Responsible for strategic make or buy decisions for fleet deployment into direct customer marketing segment or B2B account and new categories like Ready Mix, Aggregate, to ensure the organization maximizes opportunity of growing the segment with present production and volume
Responsible for the provision of adequate transport services i.e Flatbeds, Bulk Tanker etc for the 3 Plants
Responsible for all transport contracts performance to ensure full compliance with provisions by all parties
Work with Head of Logistics to set priority for the type of transport company to services some routes based on cost recovery and NRP targets of sales.
Strategically manage the impact of Plants shut down or production interruptions on corporate transporters who possess signed contract with the company by working with HOL and LMs to schedule interplant redeployment of fleet.
Manage the processes of creating a standard for the organizations transport operations to maintain fleet quality, create a traceable database for all transporters information and set benchmarks for transporters Insurance to ensure recoverable indemnity.
Ensure transport cost falls in line with budget by constant monitoring through effective route planning, monthly variance analysis, and effective rate negotiation.
Responsible for the development of relationships with key internal stake holders at Plant levels i.e Logistics Managers, Plant Managers, Production Managers, Safety Coordinators, VIO etc for effective management of fleet turnaround at plant.
Ensure all fleet in the BU’s transport operations comply strictly with the Group’s Health and Safety Provisions as contained in the Road Safety Advisories
Commit to ZERO fatality by working with HOL to ensure transporters compliance with Journey Plan, set up patrol networks and conduct constant transporters/drivers training and awareness of company’s proprieties on Safety in conjunction with Road Safety Coordinator
Develop relationship management strategies to manage existing drivers and transporters unions, key transporters, government agencies, traditional rulers and pressure groups most especially in communities where we have business operations and financial institutions supporting our corporate transporters.
Qualifications et experience
University Degree in an Engineering or Commercially based-discipline.
5 years experience in the FMCG environment.
Good understanding of both local and offshore purchases.
Analytical, numerate, enthusiastic, tenacious.
Strong People development skills.
Ability to set up a professional network and with very good interpersonal skills.
