• Monitor day to day cash movements - inflows and outflows – in the bank accounts and promptly follow up with Treasury, Accounts Payable and others responsible for source documents to ensure that GL accounts are updated on a currency of one to two days.
• Ensure that all receipts from customers are duly captured in SAP on a daily basis, and no more than two days after the bankings/transfers have cleared into our account.
• Verify all bank and LC charges with Treasury and attach evidence of this check before booking the transactions in the general ledger before each month end.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for organisation bank accounts to the general ledger, research discrepancies, and prepare adjusting transactions necessary to make corrections to appropriate accounting record. Duly finalized and approved / signed bank reconciliations to be filed by the 20th of the following month.
• Prepare adjusting transactions necessary to make corrections to appropriate accounting records.
• Identify areas of opportunity to increase automations and efficiencies within the current processes and assist to improve efficiency and strengthen controls to improve the bank reconciliations cycle.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet accounts and control accounts to G/L reconciliations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensure month end reconciliations are prepared and duly signed by supervisor by the 20th of the following month
• Timely completion of month and year end closing tasks by due dates as set in the closing time-tables and checklist
• Initiate and process journal entries into various accounts.
• Ensure that all forex denominated bank accounts which are reconciled, are revalued before monthly financial statements are prepared.
• Degree in Business or Finance/Accounting education
• ICAN/ACCA with understanding of IFRS principles is preferred
• Effective multi-tasker with the ability to focus on key priorities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Motivated and challenged by working on targets and deadlines
• Two years of experience in an ERP environnent (preferably SAP).
• 2-4 years experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting preferred
• Experience in bookkeeping and computer entry
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data manipulation, advanced formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
• Experience with basic Crystal report writing or data querying preferred
• Self-starter with high energy level
• Strong ethics, integrity and sound, logical jugement
