Job Title: Director of Success
Location: Lagos


About the Role


Andela’s Success department is charged with balancing the needs of our Clients with the needs of our Fellows in order to ensure that our Clients are successful while our Fellows are constantly growing and progressing through our Technical Leadership Program. Our Lagos office is looking for a seasoned technology professional who is passionate about building the next generation of technology leaders in Africa and who knows what it takes to make successful Clients, to be the next Director of Success for Nigeria.


Our core consulting model is embedded software developers and teams­­­ who just happen to be located thousands of miles away, off­shore. As such, you’ll need to be an expert in enabling talented people to deliver their best, providing the support and quality control needed to help them through challenges, and developing the processes, protocols and procedures necessary to scale with Andela’s Client and Fellow growth.


Although you interface with every aspect of the organization, your core constituents are Andela’s Fellows and Clients, and so you’re simultaneously the voice of each to various stakeholders. Everyday you wake up thinking about:


  • How do I better ensure that Andela’s Nigerian technical professionals are prepared, supported, and continue to grow?

  • How do I better ensure that Andela’s Clients are wowed with the quality, engagement and productivity of their Andela Fellow?

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee delivery of all accounts staffed by Andela’s Nigerian technical professionals

  • Manage the growth of all trained technical professionals in Nigeria

  • Manage a support staff of client­-facing Technical Coordinators

  • Manage other support staff that provide support to all of Andela’s technical professionals

  • Collaborate with the Sales team and other members of the Success department in multiple countries to staff and support clients

  • Work with the Nigerian Leadership Team to address issues for Fellows

  • Provide actionable feedback into all aspects of the organization for continuous improvement

Qualifications:


  • Four ­year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university.

  • 8-­10 years of experience working remotely in software development, technology consulting and/or software product management

  • Demonstrated interest or experience working in education

  • Experience managing or leading software developers

  • Experience working in multiple countries and/or with international organizations

  • A deep commitment to Andela’s mission.

  • Willingness to travel periodically between Andela’s centers as well as to US offices

Job Title: Accountant
Location: Lagos


About the Accountant Role


You will be part of a high-functioning team where your work matters. You will make a difference and join our mission.  As most start-ups, we operate at lightning speed, and if you embrace it, you’ll be challenged every day. This position will report directly to the Finance Manager, Lagos.


The Accountant will provide overall account support for Andela Lagos operations with accurate preparation of financial statement of affairs; timely execution of monthly payroll, recording of expenses and reconciliations as required.


Key Responsibilities


The specific responsibilities of the Accountant will include:


  • Assist in preparing accrual basis monthly balance sheet, statement of operations and requested additional schedules for dashboard for parent company within 10 days of each month end.

  • Execute monthly payroll in time for Management review and bank advice. Timely payroll processing and take full responsibility for all Nigerian Government Payroll Compliance And Reporting

  • Assist in developing reporting processes, procedures and internal controls for maintaining the efficient flow of all financial transactions

  • Monitor assigned payroll activities including taxes and pensions etc. to ensure Andela’s compliance with related laws of the country and timely remittance of same by administrators

  • Manage all accounts payables and issue out petty cash to staff and Fellows in line with approved documentation

  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including billing and cash collections

  • Manage the Fixed Asset process, including maintaining a Fixed Asset register and running of monthly depreciation.

  • Assisting in managing treasury functions which includes updating the weekly bank and payment positions and ensuring that the Company’s bank accounts are properly funded at all times.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts in the ledger.

  • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany activity with parent company and other Andela subsidiaries

  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.

  • Provide admin support and contract compliance reviews if any as required by the Finance Manager, Lagos.

Qualifications & Characteristics


As the ideal candidate for this role, you should:


  • Have a BSc in Finance/Business Administration with minimum ICAN Skill Level

  • Have a minimum of 3-5  years experience in an accounting and payroll function

  • Have a clear understanding of finance processes, tax and pension process

  • Be able to use Quickbooks or learn same pretty fast

  • Have a good knowledge of MS Excel and other MS office tools

  • Be able to monitor progress and takes action or escalates as needed

  • Have accurate book-keeping skills

  • Be able to communicate clearly and present work product clearly

  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of an interdepartmental team in a fast-paced environment

Job Title: Recruitment Data Associate
Location: Lagos


About the Recruitment Data Associate


The Recruitment Data Associate is charged with collecting relevant and critical data across all stages of Andela’s recruiting process, and then using this data to create intelligent insights that would enable us develop better ways to recruit and select developers.


The Recruitment Data Associate at Andela would be part of the developer recruitment team which is a core part of Andela as the success of our program depends on the quality of developers that we admit into the program. He/she would report to the Director of Recruitment and work with the Recruitment Associate and Outreach and Partnership Associate to set country recruitment team’s objectives, set priorities, and execute on a well laid out plan.


We are looking for a passionate Recruitment Data Associate to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. You will conduct full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, develop analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements in the recruitment department.


Responsibilities


The specific responsibilities of the Recruitment Data Associate will include:


  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports, drawing inference and presenting observations to the recruitment team to ensure constantly optimized recruitment process.

  • Developing and implementing data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality in the recruitment department

  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems

  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Filtering and cleaning data

  • Working closely with management to prioritize business and information needs

  • Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities

  • Providing requested analysis on Recruitment budget and activities for, board and management reporting requirements.

  • Managing and analysing publicity, social media, fellow performance data

  • Ensuring that the recruitment process is the least costly and most effective based on lessons learnt from data available

  • Creating and keeping records of candidate evaluation information from applications and interviews.

  • Liaising and working effectively with contacts across all departments and at all levels within and outside Andela, to ensure a collaborative approach to recruitment.

  • Developing and monitoring metrics for measuring process implementation and recruiting effectiveness.

Qualifications & Characteristics


As the ideal candidates for this role should:


  • Have a BSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Information Management.

  • Have proven working experience as a data analyst.

  • Be comfortable with numbers and have the ability to analyse, interpret and draw inferences from complex data sets.

  • Have excellent quantitative skills and a deep understanding of statistics.

  • Be familiar with data analysis and statistical methods.

  • Have strong Excel skills.

  • Have experience with SQL and database management.

  • Have experience with any statistical analysis package such as Excel, SPSS, SAS etc (Advanced Excel Proficiency is a plus).

  • Have experience with A/B testing and calculating statistical significance.

  • Be a self-starter who can accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Have good knowledge of and be passionate about Andela’s mission and vision.

  • Epitomize a level of enthusiasm about being at Andela as a model for all fellows to promote the organization to external audiences.
