We offer all our employees challenging, rewarding careers in dynamic businesses, giving them a genuine chance to shape the future.Director of Corporate Communications - Sub Sahara AfricaAs a key member of the executive team for GE Africa and reporting into the President & CEO of GE Africa, this is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced communications executive with a minimum of 15 years experience to drive GE communications across Sub-Saharan Africa.As the Director of Corporate Communications, this person will be responsible for building a communications vision and roadmap, and implementing a strategic external and internal communications plans to build the GE brand in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as enhance the company’s reputation. This position will lead/manage the following regional communication disciplines/programs: Employee Communications, Public/Media Relations, and the Communications Leadership Development Program.

Responsible for executive and leadership communications as well as developing and executing the long-term strategic communications key messaging plan that will maintain and enhance the company’s image and reputation and support key business objectives across the continent.
Work closely with Africa business leaders to drive a ‘One GE’ brand, identify best practices in support of corporate messaging, focusing on regional/national media (non-trade press).
Build media relationships and work with targeted major business & mainstream media around GE initiatives and products.
Responsible for written communications including press releases, holding statements, Q&As, position papers, pitches and employee communications.
Drive and organize GE internal and external activities and events with GE businesses, executives and regional communicators.
Manage PR agencies in Africa, ensuring consistency with PR plans and compliance with GE guidelines, as well as measure and monitor effectiveness of Company’s media and PR coverage.
Identify opportunities and manage Africa speaker and conference participation.
Liaison with market development teams to support targeted business opportunities and initiatives through integrated marketing communications program.
Working with agencies on producing collateral material such as brochures, banners, giveaways and booths’ layout for exhibitions as well as monitoring brand application and supporting implementation of branding guidelines. Localizing & updating website content.
Support development and communication of Philanthropic/Citizenship Programs.

Minimum 15 years of communications experience (media relations, public relations, event management, employee comms) with a Corporate multinational and/or PR agency with major blue-chip clients
Track record of deep pan-African experience.
Kenya Citizenship or ability to live/work in Kenya without restriction.
Demonstrate team-leading capability.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or Marketing degrees.
Strong oral and written communications skills; strong editing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-directed; highly motivated, team player.
Creative thinker with fresh ideas and problem solver.
Fluency in English.
