Action Against Hunger | ACF-International works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.

An outbreak of cholera had been reported in Borno state, Maiduguri.

ACF is recruiting a cholera response team to work on both water and sanitation infrastructure, and the community sensitization on both water quality and interpersonal contamination to prevent cholera, and on early rehydration and referral of patients.

We are recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Supervisor

Job Location: Borno

Job Description:

The WASH Supervisor will be working under the leadership and guidance of the WASH Program Manager and is accountable for the overall implementation of the hygiene promotion wing of the WASH project within the framework of WASH emergency response project in Borno state, Nigeria.

Summary of Key Objectives

Overall supervision of hygiene promotion activities following ACF’s local strategy and International GuidelinesTrain and build the capacity of staffs and partnersCoordinate with internal staffs, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementationSupervise and manage staffs under your responsibility

Qualifications & Essential Skills

Degree in Public health, sociology, rural development, and other related fieldsPrevious experience in supervising hygiene promotion activitiesProfessional, good organizational capacity, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitiveThree years relevant work experienceMicrosoft Office software Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.Fluency in Hausa and EnglishCommitment to ACF mission, values and policy

Preferred:

Previous experience of work in the humanitarian sectorGood knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economyPrevious experience with ACFPrevious donor programming experience (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA).

Job Title: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Technical Officer

Job Description

The WASH Technical Officer will be working under the leadership and guidance of the WASH Emergency Response Program Manager, accountable for professional technical contribution to drilling and construction of the WASH project activities within the framework of the emergency response program in Borno state, Nigeria.Summary of Key ObjectivesOverall supervision of water and sanitation construction activities including preparing technical designs and bills of quantitiesTrain and build the capacity of staffs and partnersCoordinate with internal staff and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation

Qualifications & Essential Skills

Degree in Water engineering, hydrology, civil engineering, and other related fieldsPrevious experience in supervising drilling and construction activitiesProfessional, good organizational capacity, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitiveThree years relevant work experienceMicrosoft Office and designing software Skills (AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.Fluency in Hausa and EnglishCommitment to ACF mission, values and policy
