Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Finance/Admin assistant, the jobholder will provide reliable messenger services and reliable and safe sanitary services. S/he should demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
The job holder will be exposed to constant dirt and dust. It also requires climbing up and down the stairs when performing the duties. At supervisor discretion the job-holder may be required to work in shifts to meet the changing demands of service delivery. The job-holder may be required to wear the assigned uniform provided whilst on duty.
Core functions/responsibilities:
• Provides efficient organization and cleaning services.
• Keeping the office room floors, surfaces, furniture, walls, doors, windows, kitchen, corridors, toilets, and waiting areas and the office environment clean and hygienic at all the times;
• Paying attention and ensuring hygienic standard of sanitary facilities at all the times and replenishing the toiletries (toilet rolls, soaps, washing liquid )as required;
• Report on the stock status of toilet rolls, soaps, washing liquid and towel etc.;
• Sorting, delivery and pick up of documents from various offices on the premises at regular intervals.
• Maintaining the organization of paper, documents and doing Photocopying and duplicating services as requested;
• Supporting office hospitality in the presence of guests by ensuring that tea, water and refreshments are served and provided at official meetings as requested;
• Assist in the loading, unloading and movement of furniture, equipment and cargo office supplies;
• Other duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
a) secondary school certificate; b) at least 1 year previous practical cleaning experience and operations of various cleaning appliances in a busy office environment preferably with an International Organization; c) basic knowledge of general hygiene practices; d) good knowledge of facility layout; e) good knowledge of cleaning products and applications; f) store keeping knowledge desirable; g) basic understanding of Health and safety issues in relation to tea service and cleaning operations.
Language:
Thorough knowledge of written and spoken English.
