Job Description
•Act as platform assistant
•Work in various Finance departments to gain experience to act as back up as may be required.
•Serve as project manager for all Finance led projects
•Any other assignments required by line manager
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis
•Collate inputs on industry and economic performance and analysis
•Prepare monthly reports of industry and economic trends and analysis
•Review regulatory pronouncements, circulars, activities to provide early alerts for decision making
•Perform other ad hoc analysis to support business decisions and provide feedback to management regarding results.
•Keep abreast of business and market trends, which may affect business decisions.
•Gather financial business and economic data for business plan.
•Carry out monthly analytical reviews of business and financial information on industry performance highlighting the key drivers of performances.
•Conduct industry and regulatory scans and prepare early alerts on significant initiatives and regulatory pronouncements
•Comprehensive analytical review of financial statements of comparative banks/competitors
2.Project Management
•Prepare and update project plans
•Serve as secretary to the project committee(s)
•Prepare minutes of meetings, monitor project performance in terms of timelines and objectives
•Serve as liaison officer for key project stakeholders.
•Perform post-project review report as may be required
Qualifications & Skills
•Business related degree with a minimum of a second class.
•Professional qualifications in Accounting and Finance e.g. CFA, ACCA, ACA (are added advantages).
•At least two years work experience in a medium sized financial Institution.
•Good communications and interpersonal skills
•Broad understanding of banking practice
•An eye for detail and accuracy with a strong analytical capability
•Probing mind
•Significant level of computer literacy is required especially report writing, use of MS Excel for analysis and MS PowerPoint for presentations
In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
