Job Position: Principal Material & Corrosion Engineer
Responsibilities:
The Principal Materials and Corrosion Engineer will be responsible for the Materials and Corrosion Engineering deliverables in Deepwater Projects and ensuring timely completion to the required quality standards.
She / He will work in a multidiscipline team and lead Materials and Corrosion engineering in all phases of project (concept to handover). Prepare and review deliverables identified for the project as well as present Materials and Corrosion engineering project deliverables to the project and stakeholders. He/She will also supervise and coach young Materials and Corrosion engineers in the team. The Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer has responsibility to advise requirements (resource,schedule,costs e.t.c.) for the design of the systems and deliver on schedule.
There will also be requirements to support existing asset. In particular,
• She/He will provide leadership and in-depth Materials and Corrosion expertise required for the design,fabrication,installation and commissioning of the Topsides,Structural (incl. Hull and Turrets),Marine,Offloading,Pipelines/Flowlines,Risers,Subsea facilities,and Operational systems.
• Understand the interfaces in FPSO’s with both discipline and project engineering of deepwater development systems.
• Set up and manage the appropriate systems required to assure the technical integrity of new offshore assets with respect to materials and corrosion management.
• Help to deliver large,complex field development projects safely,on or ahead of schedule,and on or below budget according to the business plan. Projects are to be completed to full customer satisfaction allowing sustained operational integrity and performance.
• Build relationships with industry and others that contribute to the project development value chain.
• Responding to significant cost pressures in both project delivery and SNEPCo business while helping to create a new,sustainable organization.
• Managing the project uncertainties,including multiple interfaces,and input from Operations staff to achieve Top Quartile delivery of assigned project.
• Capturing and instilling standard “best practices”,work processes,systems,and tools based on global experiences realized from execution subsea projects.
• Develop a creative approach in helping to meet anticipated future,tighter environmental regulations
• Understanding,properly reflecting and implementing Nigerian Content Directive requirements in the Nigerian Deep Water portfolio.
Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent (preferably Metallurgy and Materials). Possess a minimum of 12 years of MCI engineering experience in the oil/gas industry, eight of which must be in offshore environment (preferably, deepwater).
• Proven, broad knowledge of deepwater floating systems and subsea design, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation.
• Multi-Discipline Knowledge & Appreciation
• Knowledge of existing MCI and related standards and ability to develop MCI requirements for new deep-water development projects.
• Played a significant role on a major project.
• Demonstrated capability to proactively implement plans, follow through with sustained execution, and to meet project milestones
• Good supervisory qualities and experience, including good communication skills, and proactive commitment to HSE

Job Position: Senior Subsea Operations Engineer
Responsibilities:
To support the delivery of Subsea Systems Surveillance & Integrity Assurance into the portfolio of Shell Nigeria Deepwater projects,ensuring that subsea systems operations and maintenance (including HSE) requirements are embedded in the design,construction,commissioning and operations to achieve subsea asset integrity for sustained steady state production to maximize project value. In particular,
• Drive implementation and maintenance of the subsea systems aspects of the asset reference plan.
• Responsible for thermal/hydraulic performance monitoring of subsea systems e.g. monitoring of subsea trees,flowlines,umbilicals,pressure,temperatures,flow rates and pressure differentials,defining data collection and monitoring points.
• Responsible for providing guidance in performing complex diagnostics/troubleshooting of subsea system behaviours (failures/events) with Operations.
• Responsible for subsea system mechanical integrity monitoring (Choke Wear,Valve leakage diagnostics,flowlines,umbilical and tree integrity),including for providing feedback to subsea hardware team on hardware design operating experience.
• Work with Operations and Projects in root cause failure analysis efforts for critical subsea systems.
• Responsible for contractors (OEM) equipment performance monitoring including review and commenting on technical documentation produced by contractors e.g. technical reports,specification procedures and drawings.
• Support Operations with regulatory issues pertaining to subsea producing assets such as HSSE Case,statutory compliance requests,waivers,etc.
• Work with Subsea Intervention Team in the development of work programs for subsea systems corrective maintenance including Rigless Intervention System
• Support Subsea Project Teams in the engineering,design,manufacturing,testing and installation of subsea hardware e.g. trees,manifold,flowlines,umbilicals and tie-ins.
• Responsible for population of the Subsea System Failures Database
• Champion analyzing mean time between failures for Subsea equipment to optimize maintenance planning.
• Mentor junior surveillance engineers
Requirements:
This position requires a well motivated and energetic engineer who must be exhibit “Enterprise First” behaviour .
A technical background in engineering to degree level with around 10 years experience within EP deepwater (subsea) business covering both project and operational roles.
The ability to manage change in a multi-cultural environment is also required.
