1. Fixed Income Trader/PM
Overview:
The Fixed Income Portfolio Manager/Trader will be primarily responsible for proprietary and clients’
managed accounts portfolios in the Fixed Income/Money Markets.
The individual will provide market information for the Investment Steering Committee, prepare
presentations and approval memos for fixed income investments, monitor the investments in line with
agreed investment strategy and is responsible for ensuring all FI portfolios are managed effectively
and in a consistent and risk-controlled manner.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage fixed income portfolios: create trade lists, proactively manage benchmark
rebalancing
• Implementing sector allocation and security selection strategies
• Ensure all funds are positioned within the right investment parameters and guidelines
• Provide analytics and data to Investment Steering Committee and Client facing teams
• Periodic portfolio monitoring and reporting
Required skills will include:
• Must have strong fixed income skills, with experience in managing both local and fixed
income portfolios
• Some EM experience would be beneficial / preferred
• Highly computer literate, with advanced spreadsheet-based skills;
• Understanding of major debt securities sectors and their dynamics, and familiarity with
debt/credit issuers
• Ability to work with great accuracy under pressure
• Strong communication skills and an effective team player
• Experience in performance attribution and portfolio risk analytics
• Familiarity with quantitative techniques would be a benefit.
• Ability to think on their feet
• A strong drive and entrepreneurial skill

• Must demonstrate ability to think outside the box and act independently
• Must have strong trading skills and demonstrate ability to beat the market/market
benchmarks
• Must show track record of profitable trades.
Minimum candidate requirements
• At least three years of trading treasury instruments and Bonds (both National, sub-national,
corporate and municipal bonds)
• A good first degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Business Administration
• Must be a Certified Treasury Dealer of the FMDA (Financial Market Dealers Association)
• Graduate degree is an advantage
