Overview
The Program Officers will principally be responsible for supporting project activities in their coverage states by providing technical
assistance and supervision to implementing organizations/CBOs working on the project in the State, provide effective program management
and supportive supervision, as well as monitoring and reporting on the activities of Implementing organizations/CBOs in their assigned
states.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Providing up to date information relating to current and emerging issues in malaria in the state or area of coverage.
 Proactively and efficiently manage the implementation of the project activities within their states of assignment
 Participating in development, management and review of program activities of implementing organizations/CBOs in the states of
responsibility
 Monitoring and evaluating progress of implementation in areas of responsibility, this will involve undertaking periodic visits to
program sites within the selected Local Government Areas and wards in their states
 Achieving and maintaining an effective and efficient level of communication with the ACOMIN National office, partners and
stakeholders in their states
 Supporting the implementing organization to draw up periodic work plans and budgets
 Develop state-specific advocacy plans and/or promoting issue areas to various stakeholders and coordinate Advocacy visits at all
levels in the state;
 Develop and manage state-specific project plans;
 Responsible for financial management of the state project activities;
 Support and supervise the daily work of field officers;
 Document lessons learned and best practices in monitoring and evaluation, according to standard guidelines;
 Represent ACOMIN and make presentations at meetings related malaria;
 Participate in related activities of other projects being implemented by ACOMIN in the state;
 Manage the state’s reporting cycle to ensure that targets are met and complete reports sent to the national office on a periodic basis,
or when required with strict adherence to timeline;
 Ensure the quality of program/ Monitoring and Evaluation by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate
mechanisms to ensure quality;
 Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree/HND


Other Requirements:



Basic Requirements
 Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or other related discipline, a post graduate qualification in Public
health or other related discipline is an added advantage.
 S/he must have a minimum of three years’ work experience in Public Health; particularly in Malaria programs or any other
programs in other disease areas.
 Five (5) years minimum experience is required for candidates without a post graduate degree
 Local knowledge, language and residency in the state of choice is mandatory.
Additional Skills
 Proven presentation skills and ability to write detailed and coherent reports.
 Ability to utilize office application programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other program software e.g DHIS
and statistical applications like SPSS, epilnfo, etc
 Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports.
 Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software.
 Proven ability to maintain schedules for deliverables and track budgets.
 Ability to coordinate with partners from all levels of government and the private sector.
 Ability to guide and motivate staff in the field.
